In the beauty and skincare industry ice therapy has normally been incorporated into our routines to reduce texture and bring out a natural glow, find out whether ice globes are what you may need for an at home facial cryotherapy treatment.
But, let’s find out what ice globes are, how to best use them and the benefits of introducing them in your skincare routine.
What are ice globes for skincare?
Ice globes are a cooling facial tool that comes in the form of a pair of wands with a sphere at their base.
This very modern design has been plastered all over Instagram and is one of the latest skincare trends to take over the Internet.
This form of ice globes skincare treatment is similar to what you would achieve with a facial cryotherapy treatment.
If you were to marry a jade roller treatment with a cryotherapy treatment you would have the ice globes.
What’s really important is knowing the benefits of using these facial tools.

- Lymphatic drainage
- Helps contour the face
- Stimulates collagen production

Are ice globes good for skin?
Ice globes are good for skin and unlike other skincare treatments don’t have disadvantages for your skin. This treatment is suitable for all skin types.
Do facial ice globes work?
Facial ice globes work and it is a good treatment to incorporate into your skin routine no matter what your skin type is.
Do you put ice globes in the freezer? And for how long?
Yes, you put the ice globes in the freezer for up to 30 minutes or overnight to get them to the temperature you need to get the benefits of the cryotherapy treatment.
Battle of the rollers
There’s however an array of different skincare tools such as the ice rollers, jade rollers and ice globes! If you are knew to the world of ice rollers this comparison will help you set aside the differences and know what you need.
Ice globes vs Ice rollers
Ice globes and ice rollers are in essence the same thing, they both provide the same type of cryotherapy treatment.
The difference lies in their design. The ice rollers feature a more bulky head with a roller and are not ideal for getting into the under eye areas.
The ice globes on the other hand have a more ergonomic design and are better at getting in under the eye area.
Ice globes vs Jade rollers
Both the ice globes and jade rollers are facial massage tools which stimulate circulation, lymphatic drainage, reduce inflammation, tone the skin, make the skin more elastic and help reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
Ice globes work on the basis of a cryotherapy treatment and a facial massage.
Ice rollers need to be put into the freezer prior to use whereas jade rollers don’t need to refrigeration.
Jade rollers are used as a facial massage tool. These tend to be cool but once applied on the skin they are able to cool down. In terms of temperature these are not cold but rather fresh instead.
When used correctly a jade roller can provide a great facial massage as well as better absorption of your skincare products.
Ancient Chinese medicine refers to the healing power of the jade gemstones but there is no scientific data to support that.
In terms of design comfort the Fraicheur Ice globes have a great design to get under the undereye area unlike other conventional ice globe brands and the jade rollers.
Ice offers such great soothing and rejuvenating properties.
Fraicheur created a skincare tool which fits into your skincare routine at home, which comes in not only a luxurious design but is also ergonomic and easy to carry with you.
The Fraicheur Ice globes were so popular that they were featured in Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, ELLE, Harper’s BAZAAR and even Vogue.
The Fraîcheur cooling facial tool is so soothing and has the innate ability to reduce puffiness, reduce skin redness and increase skin glow.

Fraicheur ice globes benefits
Unlike other ice globes or rollers, the Fraicheur Ice globes offer a unique spherical shape which help provide cryotherapy all over you face and neck.
The cryotherapy works on the basis that it constricts blood vessels and reduces blood flow. When you remove the ice globes the skin will instantly look more rosy as the capillaries open up.
The Fraicheur Ice globes are great not only for rejuvination, reducing pore size and inflammation and increasing your natural radiance.
They are great for lymphatic drainage, relieving headaches, releiveing migranes, reducing under eye darkness, improving hot flushes and making skin truly radiant.
Ice globes for under eyes
Applying cold compresses has always been the best trick to help reduce under eye darkness and puffiness.
It’s much easier, more efficient and mess free using the ice globes instead of DIY eye ice packs or gel ice masks because you can roll them under the eye, helping reduce puffiness more efficiently.
Ice globes for hot flushes
For Women suffering from hot flushes, the ice globes can be great to counteract the sudden heating up of your body and relieving discomfort.
Simply roll the ice globes on you temples, face and neck.
You will feel much more relaxed overall by using them.
Ice globes for migraines and headaches
The ice globes can be excellent at releiveing migranes and headaches. It’s scientifically proven that for people who suffer from headaches and migranes ice is recommended to reduce and numb the pain.
Simply press in a circle motion the ice globes on the temples and press them in an upward and also outward motion on the forehead.
This will definitely help reduce headache and migranes symptoms.
My experience using the Fraicheur Ice globes
I was so excited to receive the Fraicheur Ice globes as I have tried cryotherapy before and have preciously enjoyed this facial treatment.
Having the luxury to carry out the facial cryotherapy in the comfort of my home is exactly what I needed.
I didn’t know what to expect because as many different brands offer different facial icing possibilities.
When I received the Fraicheur package I was very happy with the aesthetics of the product when it came down to product design and packaging.
What truly counts however, is wether or not the Fraicheur Ice globes work and can they be incorporated easily into my skincare routine.
I removed them from their packaging a popped them in the freezer for over 30 minutes.
In the meanwhile, I started off my skincare routine by removing my make-up, double cleansing, using a toner and exfoliating (do the exfoliating process only done once a week).
I applied the Elemental Herbology Water Hyaluronic booster serum before using the ice globes so that the ice globes could lock deep into my skin this hyaluronic serum.
Don’t forget to put your favourite moisturiser or serum before you use them so the ice globes glide effortlessly onto the skin.
I removed the ice globes from the freezer and started off as advised by Fraicheur in a downward motion from the forehead and worked my way down the face, neck and décolletage.
I found the Fraicheur Ice globes extremely relaxing especially on the temples and eye area. I love to use them in the morning.
The shape of the ice globes makes the process easier and a better sensory experience.
Bear in mind that facial cryotherapy with the ice globes offers temporary results as it is a non invasive skincare treatment.
However, with consistency and using your skincare products you will notice long term improvement in your skin.
Fraicheur ice globes before and after
As you can see from the before and after the difference is actually noticeable.
The skin looks more radiant, more toned, the expression lines look blured and I literally look rosy.
The under-eye area looks really good. However, let’s not forget the relaxing sensory feeling you get from the ice globes too.
I particularly enjoy rubbing them on my temples and under my eyes when I’m tired or have a headache.
