I never stopped thinking throughout the years, how do you know if you’ve found the one to spend your whole life with.
In this fast paced world with the world at your fingertips, how can you possibly know if they are THE ONE!!
I remember my father once upon a time, telling me that when you know, you just know.
I never understood this sentence and I don’t think till this day I will never truly grasp it.
However, one fine day my life turned upside down.
After 6 years single, I decided to take a leap of faith and start dating.
Never did I think it would be possible to find someone I could could have feelings for. For me to feel that I didn’t want to run away from them.
My most precious memories of our dates, from asking me to be his girlfriend to talking about having a kid and marriage.
We’d been dating shy of a year and I am going to admit marriage for me is a formality a piece of paper.
True love isn’t defined by a piece of paper but by a true connection that bonds you for life.
I’ve never been one looking to get married , I think I have always wanted to dodge that bullet.
My past relationship scarred me in ways that are unimaginable, so I became even more numb , a man would never be a priority in my heart.
But I learnt that I life you can NEVER SAY NEVER.
We had already been on holiday together previously and we had such a great time.
This time round we went on holiday to Poland and boy did Poland steal my heart! It’s absolutely breathtaking.
We went sightseeing, enjoyed the food and got much deserved rest from working.
Did I ever imagine what was about to unfold at the end of the holiday???? No way!!!!
We are going to a couple of concerts during the summer and it probably crossed my mind that he may propose then.
It was a freezing day but sunny. We got up, had breakfast and as usual went sightseeing.
I wore my jeans and sneakers. Out we went!!! On our way to Moszna Zamek , which is a beautiful castle in Southern Poland.
The castle was breathtaking, we had such a laugh and we took so many pictures for my instagram.
We walked all around the grounds, castle and found this beautiful spot to take pictures in.
He started taking pictures of me and I love having pictures where you see the back of me and the view.
So as per usual he took those pictures but all of a sudden it was quiet.
I turned around thinking he’d finished taking pictures and there he was on one knee with that smile.
Those words “Will you marry me?” came out and to be honest till this day from how surprised I was I have no idea what else he told me. It is a blur.
I went quiet ,got on my knees too and told him I would.
For the first time in my life I didn’t feel anxious , I felt a sense of peace. ( I’ve had a few proposals before and the feeling in my gut was that of feeling unsettled)
He put the ring on my finger and I didn’t even see it coming. I am like a detective so how this got past me only God knows.
The whole proposal was so romantic and I don’t think I could ever forget this special day.
It was definitely Instagram worthy and when we got back we celebrated our engagement news with our closest and dearest.
Moszna Zamek is a place I will never forget. It warms my heart when I see these pictures.
I told myself I would never even consider getting married and my advice is never say never.
