As always ensure that you get to your appointment hydrated a you will be always required to give a urine sample to test.

Don’t forget to bring your maternity notes as this should be with you every step of your pregnancy.

Other than that sit back and enjoy.

What to expect at your appointment

The appointment will start out assessing you blood test results from your 28 midwife appointment.

I was low in iron which is expected especially in the third trimester and comes as no surprise.

Unfortunately, I tend to test positive for Strep B also known as GBS at everyone of my urine samples.

So unfortunately for me my urine sample showed white cells present in my urine, which means it gets sent over to the lab.

In my experience this is usually indicative in my case of being GBS positive.

So that was a bummer.

Next up, they took my blood pressure and that is always good as I have been keeping active during my pregnancy.

She went through infant feeding choices and wether I was looking to breastfeed or collect collostrum.

Last but not least, she had a feel of the position of the baby and my baby is always ready head down since 20 weeks.

Then my favourite part which is hearing that little heartbeat, which tends to be in the 130 range.

My first born always was over 140 and definitely more active.

The midwife discussed reduced movements which you need to keep an eye on. By now, your baby should have a regular movement pattern.

Should this movement pattern change or reduce its best to get yourself checked out and call your midwife team so you can come in for an assessment.

This is my bump at the 32 week mark of my pregnancy, I can’t believe how much I have finally popped.

With my first one my bump was barely noticeable. I would say this time round it’s really come out.
