I can’t believe we have reached 34 weeks so quickly, here is what to expect at your 34 week antenatal appointment.
The appointments are every 2 weeks in the third trimester and sometimes there’s two per week depending on your medical condition.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOU 34 WEEK APPOINTMENT
As always make sure you are hydrated as you will need to give that dreaded urine sample.
Also, don’t forget your antenatal notes as this should be with you always for any appointment.
WHAT HAPPENS AT YOUR 34 WEEK APPOINTMENT?
You will asked to provide the urine sample which for me is my nightmare when I go due to my pregnancy best friend GBS.
However, I just finished my antibiotic the night before so this may well be the first time I can potentially test negative for it.
Then they take your vitals such as blood pressure and heart rate.
Law and behold my urine sample for the first time in 34 weeks was negative!!! What a relief!!!
We discussed reduced movements as I had a reduced movement scare just 4 days prior to this appointment.

I am keeping a close eye on movements and it’s been quite stressful.
I have also been experiencing lower abdominal cramps and period pains. This is apparently the build up to the birthing process.
I am so anxious about it but my midwife team has been so loving and supportive. I feel I am in good hands as they are always there for me throughout my pregnancy.
They assessed the baby’s position which remains head down and that sweet lovely heart rate.
My bump is growing day by day and is totally incomparable to my first pregnancy. It just blows my mind.
