Old wives tales use a variety of criteria to predict gender. However, be aware that there is no science behind this.

Morning sickness
They say that if you are having a boy you won’t be suffering as much for morning sickness. However, if you are carrying a girl the morning sickness will be considerable.
There have been studies on women suffering from extreme morning sickness and they were carrying multiples or girls.
So there could be a hint of truth to this.
Salty vs sweet cravings
They claim that if you are craving salty food you are carrying a boy , but if you are craving sweet food you are carrying a girl.
Acne vs pregnancy glow
They claim that if you are suffering from acne you could be carrying a girl but if you have a pregnancy glow you could be carrying a boy.
Bad mood vs Calm mood
If you are feeling moody you could be carrying a girl but if you are calm you are carrying a girl.
Carrying low vs high
According to the old wives tales carrying low could indicate a boy and carrying high a girl.
Heart rate
If your babies heart rate is over 140 bmp it is potentially a girl but if it’s under 140 it is potentially a boy.
The Chinese gender calendar
The Chinese gender calendar asks the age you conceived and month of conception and comes up with a gender.
The feel of the skin on the hands
Dry skin predicts a boy and shiny skin a girl.
The side you are sleeping on
If you are sleeping on your left it is thought you will be expecting a boy, however if you are sleeping on your right you may be expecting a girl.
Headaches
If you have headaches you may be expecting a boy, if not you may be expecting a girl.
Cold feet
Cold feet are associated with expecting a boy, whereas if you don’t it’s a girl.
The shape of the belly
If your belly is rounded it may be a boy, if it is wide it may be a girl.
Your hair
If your hair it’s think and shiny it’s a boy . Whereas if it’s it’s full and dry it’s a girl.
Body hair
If your hair is growing fast, it’s a boy if not it’s a girl.
Weight gain placement
If all your weight is carrying up front it’s a boy, if not it’s a girl.
Wedding ring test
If the ring on the string moves in a circle over your belly it’s a boy , and if its from side to side its a girl.
Clumsy or graceful
If you are clumsier than usual it’s a boy, but if you remain graceful it’s a girl.
Darkening of the nipple
If the nipple darkens it’s a boy but if it doesn’t it’s a girl.
Urine colour
The brighter the urine it may be a boy.
The garlic test
If you are able to eat garlic and not smell it you may be having a girl.
The ring test
With the ring test, put your ring on a thread and hover it on your belly. If the ring does a back and forth motion like a pendulum it’s believed to be a boy. If the ring however, does a circular motion it may be a girl.
Daddy’s weight
They say that if daddy puts on weight , it might be a girl. However, if he doesn’t it may well be a boy.
