Omg, I can’t believe I have reached my 24 week mark this is absolutely insane.

I have also been concealing my pregnancy and no one has even noticed which is just so funny.

How to prepare for you 24 week appointment

As always make sure you are hydrated as you will need to give that dreaded urine sample.

Also, don’t forget your antenatal notes as this should be with you always for any appointment.

What happens at your 24 week appointment?

You will be asked to give a urine sample to ensure everything is ok.

A nurse will measure your blood pressure and ask you about your weight.

When the midwife is ready she will ask you to come in.

She will assess your overall health by asking you questions as well as how your mood is.

Then she will check your anomaly scan results and ensure everything is ok with them.

At this appointment make sure you get your MATB1 which you will need for your maternity leave at work to obtain allowance or statutory pay if you are eligible.

Make sure you don’t give your original MATB1 at work and only a copy.

It will be the time you will be advised to book antenatal classes.

They will really ensure you are advised as to what to do if you suspect reduced movements. It is very important that if you are in doubt you don’t wait to call the emergency number at the front of your antenatal notes.

They will also remind you to have your whooping cough vaccine. Which they have clinics for.

Last but not least, the best part of the appointment is listening to your little ones heartbeat.
