This is not just another review, this is the complete Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde eyeshadow palette review.
The hype is unreal a Huda Beauty pop up came to London Covent garden and it was unreal.
In honour of this I thought why not buy the Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde Palette?
Huda Beauty creating the hype
Huda Kattan is definitely a marketing genius, she teased us by deleting all her posts on the Huda Beauty Instagram page the drew us in with unclear snipplets, needless to saw we were dying to know what was going on!
Did she get hacked? Was she announcing something new?
Even the name was held up for guessing and suddenly the name of the Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde Palette echoed through the scrolls on Instagram.
What a new launch? A new Palette? A new Huda Beauty marketing campaign.
Law and behold she hit us with a bombshell and showed her team delivering personally to renowned influencers the new Palette.
The Mercury Retrograde palette background
Let’s start off with the controversial name of the palette, the Mercury Retrograde is known as a challenging time of true transformation. I love the name its very innovative and literally stellar like their campaign.
The Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde palette packaging
The Mercury Retrograde palette casing design is very high quality and sturdy.
The design on the casing lures you in with desire because it is beyond beautiful and an actual dream.
The casing is translucent and has a big mirror.
I was instantly drawn in with the design of it’s exterior casing.
The whole concept for the palette is what I can define as a cosmic dream.
I didn’t think they could top their other palettes but this Huda beauty Mercury Retrograde Palette has all the qualities needed to become the star of the show.
How much is the Mercury Retrograde palette?

The Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde palette colour story
Huda Beauty’s Mercury Retrograde is unique as you have blue shades, pink ,purple shades and teal. The colour story of this palette is so in tune with the palettes name.
Let me set the tone here by telling you this is a COOL TONED Palette which makes it unique as the majority of palettes on the market are warm toned.
I haven’t found any similar overall colour stories making it a pretty unique eyeshadow palette.
The colour story of the Huda Beauty Mercury Retrogradeis one which your makeup collection is missing.

The Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde palette swatches
I found that the matte shades were medium in coverage but could be built up.
The shimmers however are almost creamy upon touch but turn to powder once applied, a very unique formula I’d say.
The metallics and glitter shades were absolutely stunning on swatching.
This palette is bright , bold and beautiful.
I can’t believe how easy to blend and to pigmented the shades are.
I do recommend that you use an efficient eyeshadow base to bring out the most pigment from this palette.
Huda Beauty’s Mercury Retrograde is the epitome of luxury and what the premium cosmetic industry is all about.
Overall I am extremely excited about my purchase and the upcoming videos and looks I will be able to create.
As you can see from the shots below if you were to use a flash and eyeshadow base primer, the colours will pop even more.
I include swatches of Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde palette with and without eyeshadow primer and with and without the flash.
This is just to give you an all rounded idea of the actual pigments in the swatches.
However, sometimes I find that when you apply the eyeshadow sometimes colours can differ in the way they sit on the eyelid.

The limited edition Mercury Retrograde Brush Set
Together with this palette Huda Beauty has also released a limited edition Mercury Retrograde Brush Set.
This set has a Pack & Blend Brush , a Fender Blender Brush for shimmer, metallics cream shadow and a Contour & Blend Brush.
I really love the cosmetic bag the Mercury Retrograde Brush set comes in as the palette is also meant to go in there.
