When it comes down to blushes the selection can be so extensive that making a choice can hard.

So let me help you find a great addition to your Blush collection.

What is a Blush?

A Blush or blusher is generally referred to as rouge, it is a cosmetic colour you can apply on your cheeks or even lips.

There are two types of blushes:

  • Powder blushes
  • Cream blushes

It is used to add a touch of colour to your cheeks or define your cheekbones.

What are the benefits of using Blush?

The benefits of using a blusher include:

  • Adding a touch of colour to your face
  • Defining your face and cheeks
  • Brightening your skin
  • Cool tone skin tones will tend to look on the warmer side.
  • Adding depth to darker skin tones
  • Really locks in your contour blend with the bronzer and highlighter.
  • Applied correctly it adds a more natural tone to your foundation.

The best Blush shade for fair, medium and dark skin?

Getting the right blush for you is down to personal preference but here are some options to make it easier for you.

For fair skin tones, I recommend using:

  • Light pink tones
  • Soft coral tones
  • Peach tones

For medium skin tones, I recommend using:

  • Deep pink tones
  • Warm purple tones
  • Deep peach tones

For darker skin tones, I recommend using:

  • Brighter orange tones
  • Berry tones
  • Vivid purple tones

Which blush is best? A powder Blush or a cream blush?

In general, when it comes down choosing wether to get a powder blush or cream blush, this choice greatly depends on the type of looks you are going for and your make-up knowledge.

Powder blush is quite precise to apply and can be built easily to create depth or the look you are going for. However, if you get too jolly with it, you may end up looking overly blushing.

With cream blushes, these are perfect especially for the spring and summer looks, as they are very light and won’t end up looking too cakey.

The trick is just to find the right blush for you, it might just be that you prefer how either the powder blush applies or the cream blush.

I am opting for a cream blush as I love how easy they are to blend and how multi use they are without drying up your skin.

My experience with the Pixi Beauty On the Glow Blush tinted moisture stick collection

Firstly and foremost, when I saw the packaging I was totally in love with it.

The blushes are just so pretty and I couldn’t resist swatching them.

When I swatched them, I couldn’t believe how pigmented they were, so I knew that when I tried them on my face I would have to gently press them on my skin.

I found the blushes very easy to blend and apply. They also give you a slight natural glow.

The final looks were so beautiful I used them in different ways.

The final verdict

Overall, the Pixi Beauty blushes are super pigmented, easy to blend and multi-use.

I’m obsessed with the packaging and shade range. It makes them suitable for all skin types.

I really love the hydrating blush cream formula and how easy they are to apply.

I wouldn’t be able to choose a blush shade from the Pixi collection as my favourite, as they are all beautiful.

I didn’t expect to love the apricot shade Juicy as much as I did. I knew I would love the shades Fleur (soft pink) and Ruby (crimson red) but Juicy (apricot) took me surprise.

I will be using them for sure regularly!
