The Huda Beauty Bomb brows review exclusive

Law and behold, Huda Beauty has designed an eyebrow pencil which gives you a micro-bladed eyebrow look without even having to undergo the painful procedure, this is all you have to know about the Huda Beauty Bomb brows Microshade Brow Pencil.

Huda Beauty bomb brows Microshade Brow Pencil review

Unfortunately, I followed that over plucking trend which completely destroyed my brows. My eyebrows were left looking sparse and never grew back to those beautiful natural brows I once had.

My quest to find the right brow product has been challenging because a lot of products claim to be able to provide you with natural looking brows, but I can tell you that not all claims cosmetic companies make are true.

I had an embarrassing incident where in summer my beautiful eyebrows melted off and transferred all over the place. It was so funny at the moment but I definitely don’t want to end up in a situation like that again.

I am also so tired of make-up brands using girls with perfect brows to show that the product works!

This will not be able to tell me if the product is worth the purchase because put against sparse brows or those who don’t have brows ,it’s a whole different scenario.

I am taking you with me on a quest to find my favourite eyebrow product as well as seeing if it’s worth spending your hard earn money on it.

What is the Huda Beauty #BOMBBROWS Microshade Brow Pencil?

The Huda Beauty #BOMBBROWS is a micro-shade brow pencil which has the thinnest tip I’ve EVER come across.

Huda Beauty bomb brows Microshade Brow Pencil review

Huda Beauty expressed a desire to bring an eyebrow product with some sort of innovative feature. This being the extra-fine eyebrow pencil tip which is very pigmented.

An ultra-fine eyebrow pencil tip will allow you to create natural strokes that mimic real eyebrow hair but at the same time can be used to create any eyebrow look you may have in mind.

The #BOMBBROWS Microshade Brow Pencil packaging design

The #BOMBBROWS Microshade brow pencil is contained in sustainable packaging which is fully recyclable.

On the packaging you also have the exact shade of the pencil as well as on the eyebrow pencil itself.

The actual eyebrow pencil comes in the form of a diamond shaped pencil, similar to that of the Huda Beauty Life liner. The casing however is a gun metal shade which is absolutely stunning.

The Huda Beauty eyebrow pencil comes in the form of a dual ended pencil, one side has a spoolie whereas the other side has the actual retractable ultra fine eyebrow pencil.

Huda beauty bomb brows spoolie

The spoolie is a brilliant addition so that you have an all in one eyebrow tool. The spoolie is perfect to soften the eyebrow look by brushing them through.

The design is very beautiful to be honest, it never lets me down but what’s truly important to me is wether or not it is able to give me the eyebrows it promises easily.

What size is the tip of this eyebrow pencil?

The size of the tip of the Huda Beauty #BOMBBROWS Microshade Brow Pencil is of 0.9mm.

No eyebrow pencil on the market has such a fine tip not even the Benefit Precisely My brow pencil, the NYX Professional Makeup Micro Brow Pencil or the It cosmetics Brow power micro.

Generally brands which create fine tipped eyebrow products create them in forms of pens like Anastasia Beverly Hills Micro-Stroking Detailing Brow Pen.

This opens up one main issue, the dreaded snapping of the tip, Huda has already pre-warned in all her tutorials to slightly get that eyebrow tip out, so be very cautious when ejecting the product and pressing it down.

It also requires hair like strokes which is sensible as a fine tip may snap as well as create lines which are too harsh.

What are the benefits of using a micro eyebrow pencil vs a conventional one?

Micro eyebrow pencils are known for their ability to fill in the hairs missing in your brows, making your eyebrows look more natural.

You will find that they have the ability to create fine eyebrow lines in comparison to eyebrow powders and pomades.

The benefit of having a finer eyebrow pencil tip is that the eyebrow lines you will feather in, will allow you to build up eyebrow hairs for a more natural look.

What are the disadvantages of using an eyebrow pencil with a fine tip?

Fine eyebrow pencil use disadvantages include:

  • Snapping of the pencil when pressing
  • A lot of fiddling with the tip to slowly eject the product
  • The formula of the eyebrow pencil will determine the colour pay off, but if the colour pay off is not good, then your eyebrows may not take the shape you want.
  • Less product is contained within the pencil.
  • Works out more expensive.

How much eyebrow product is in the Huda Beauty #BOMBBROWS ?

The Huda Beauty #BOMBBROWS Microshade Brow Penci has 0.023g of product , considering how fine the tip is it will be interesting to see how long it will last.

Huda bomb brows product amount

It contains half the amount of product compared to the Mini Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil.

Choosing the right shade of the Bomb brows

When choosing the right shade for you go by the following guidelines:

  • If you are looking to create microbladded looking eyebrows, go for a shade darker than your hair colour.
  • If you want a more natural brow look go for your exact shade.
  • If you want a flawless Brow with a slight microbladded look and natural at the same time, you may need to purchase two shades, one in your natural colour and one a shade up.

The #BOMBBROWS Microshade Brow Pencil formula

The #BOMBBROWS Microshade Brow Pencil is enriched with Vitamin E, castor oil and coconut oil. Such a great array of components not only to create a smooth texture but also to help eyebrow hair growth and nourish the skin.

Huda beauty eyebrow pencil review

The Huda Beauty #BOMBBROWS is very pigmented and solid enough to give you a great line. The trick is to build the product up.

Ease of use

To my surprise it was very easy to use, my biggest fear was the tip snapping and it is actually firm enough to not have that issue as long as you didn’t dispense too much of the tip.

Colour pay-off

The colour payoff is really impressive, a light stroke creates a visible line so it’s best to go in with light strokes and build it up.

Precision

The precision is definitely on point, the line is extremely precise and fine enough to mimic real eyebrow hairs.

Hair stroke likeness

I can certify that you will get hair like strokes as you get when you have microbladding done.

Blendability

It is surprisingly possible to blend, I was so worried it would set so much so that its not possible to blend.

Ease of building up the product

It is very easy to build up the product just by using light brow strokes.

How to use the #BOMBBROWS Microshade Brow Pencil

Huda Beauty advises us to use the #BOMBBROWS Microshade Brow Pencil in a very easy manner.

  • Huda puts down some Pound cake setting powder on the brows to avoid the build up of oils.
  • Use the spoolie to brush the brows through.
  • Twist up a tiny amount of eyebrow pencil starting from the middle of the brow to the edge. This will create the perfect eyebrow arch!
  • Fill in with hair like light strokes the parts which don’t contain hair.
  • Brush them through again with the spoolie.
  • If you want a sharp brow go in with some concealer around the eyebrow.

The hair-like stroke method will allow you to create eyebrows which look microbladded rather than block drawn in.

You could also create block brows or feathered brows by using eyebrow wax/glue and then filling out the gaps.

The choice is all yours. The possibilities are endless but this is only the half of it. The shade, staying power and smudge proof will be the true tell sign of this being a successful brow product or not.

My experience with #BOMBBROWS Microshade Brow Pencil

I found the Huda Beauty Brow Pencil very easy to use and especially to build up.

However, I wish I had ordered a shade darker than my hair colour as the strokes would look even more natural.

Huda beauty bomb brows Microshade Brow Pencil before and after

The results are very noticeable if you compare them side by side with other eyebrow pencils.

The hair like strokes are definitely a game changer and when you revert to using another eyebrow pencil you will truly appreciate the difference.

In this test trail I created a feathered fluffy Brow (without the use of the wax to give you a true indication of the eyebrow pencil) and one more defined Brow.

Huda beauty bomb brows Microshade Brow Pencil block eyebrows, feathered eyebrows and micro-bladed effect eyebrows.

I didn’t expect the product to perform so well to be honest.

Once you compare your eyebrows side by side your with when you use other eyebrow pencils, you will find that the precision tip strokes are truly noticeable.

From close up the shade black Brown looks too light for me but from a distance my eyebrows actually looked too dark.
